Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a British-Nigerian mixed race child was born into an ethnically diverse family from South London. The father of her is Nigerian as well as Swiss and the mother of her is English. She grew on a south London council estate, and at the age of fourteen, she attended The Brit School. She was a student at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London which she graduated with an acting BA. While attending the school, she appeared in numerous stage productions including King Henry V as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe first began her acting career with Storm Damage. Over the past few years, Madekwe has appeared in Teachers as well as Doctors. Madekwe landed her first motion picture in the 2007 Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream, opposite Colin Farrell and Ewan McGregor. After this success, Madekwe was cast as Elisha on her role on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and was featured in six episodes Trexx as well as Flipside. The year 2008 saw her had the opportunity to play the role in the role of Bambi in The ITV2 show drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl, appearing in series two and three. Madekwe also starred as the main character on How to lose friends & betray people that was aired by Sony Pictures Entertainment the year 2008. The credits she has in her theatre work include Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams and Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe made her US debut on the Drama series The Beautiful Life, which was only broadcast on The CW before being cancelled. Ashley Davenport was her role in the ABC drama Revenge. Madekwe was in the episodes of the show's second season as a regular. In May of 2013, it was announced that word broke that the actress would leave the show after her guest appearance in the premiere episode of its third season. She played Tituba in the TV series Salem in 2014 until 2016. Madekwe got married to her actor boyfriend Iddo goldberg on June 2012. They've collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl and also was a character in the television series Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into a large, extended family. Her parents, Roy and Patty along with the four brothers of her, Brett, Todd, and Bram and Bram, were present. The four brothers of Ashley, all very athletic, played hockey during the winter months and played baseball in the summers, meaning she basically grew up in parks and arenas. Ashley was never able to walk. She was a dancer. At 2 and a 1/2, she was a part of Baby Ballet. This was the beginning of Ashley's love for dancing. Ashley was a professional dancer throughout the various categories until the time she graduated from high school. She competed in jazz, tap, ballet, pointe and acrobatics. Ashley was awarded the best soloist awards at all of the major dance competitions including, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance among others.
